Port McNeill at a Glance
Located on the northern end of Vancouver
Island along the shore of Broughton Strait, Port McNeill is a virtual paradise
for nature lovers as it offers a range of outdoor activities including sailing,
windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, diving, hiking, skiing and whale watching.
There are a number of provincial parks located nearby including Nimpkish
Lake Provincial Park which is an ideal location for windsurfing and Lower
Nipkish Lake Provincial Park where visitors can fish for salmon and trout.
Each August Orca
Fest gives visitors the opportunity to join locals and participate in a
number of events including a fun run, a parade, arts and crafts and more. For
those who prefer a day indoors, both the Henschell
Fine Arts Gallery and Rolf
Hicker Photography display unique work in various media, and the Port
McNeill Heritage Museum features displays and exhibits on the history of
the area, which allows visitors to learn more about this relaxing and inviting
community.
